Weekly Buzz 7/11/25: Amazon Vine Update Details | RIP TikTok App?
Speaker 1:
How was your first few days on Prime Day? The Vine system has a new structure that allows you to get reviews before you get your product on Amazon. We've got exclusive details. Is the TikTok app going to be no more soon?
These stories and more on today's Weekly Buzz. How cool is that? Pretty cool, I think. Hello, everybody, and welcome to another episode of the Serious Sellers Podcast by Helium 10.
I'm your host, Bradley Sutton, and this is the show that is our Helium 10 Weekly Buzz, where we give you a rundown of all the goings on in the Amazon, TikTok shop, and e-commerce world. We give you a strategy of the week,
and we let you know what new features that Helium 10 has that'll give you serious strategies for serious sellers of any level in the e-commerce world. Let's see what's buzzing. Not that much going on.
That's usually the case when everybody's shopping. It's Prime Day and many different platforms. We've talked about how Walmart has one, Amazon has one, TikTok has one, and so not much else happened in the TikTok world.
So let's just go ahead and hop into the news. And that's the first thing we actually want to talk about today is Prime Day. Now, this first article is from StockWits.com,
and it kind of talks a little bit about some Adobe Analytics data just from the first day. I like this first part here. It says, Amazon Prime Day kicks off with $8 billion in U.S. online sales in the first day based on Adobe Analytics.
And it had some quotes in here and it's like, hey, this is a 12% increase over 2023. More last year was a 12% increase over 2023, $7 billion, and now it's up even more over last year.
Instead of just going into all these articles because like you'll see some articles or is like hey sales are way down. Others will say sales are way up. I'm sure some of you have sales up and down but that's what I want to hear.
I want to hear what you guys have. Let me know in the comments below. I was looking at the two days sales I had last year. When Prime Day was two days, and it was probably 3x what my first two days were, if not 4x.
Actually, it was 4x, I think, what my first two days of sales was. Now, that being said, obviously, there's two more days of Prime Day total, so it's four days. So that means the total is going to be still maybe a little bit less.
But for me, in a couple of my accounts, it was less. But in the hemp cream account that I run, you guys know about, I was up compared to Prime Day last year. And guess what, guys?
I didn't even have a deal on that account going because the sales are going so well lately. The owner of that account was like, let's not even run a deal or a discount on it. So I have mixed results on me.
What are you guys up versus a regular day, like one of your days last week? What are you up versus day one and day two of Prime Day last year? What are you up overall or down compared to your Prime Day last year?
So let me know in the comments below. Instead of this being let's read what news articles say about Prime Day, I want to know what you guys say about Prime Day. Now, last week, if you guys tuned in,
we had a special article from Shivali who talked about this new deal where you might be able to now do Vine reviews before you launch your product. Now, that's going to be pretty interesting guys because under what she had said,
it basically means that, hey, I can send my product to Amazon or what it seemed like it meant was I can send my product to Amazon. The listing is not live because the launch date is in the future. Nobody can see my listing.
I got my honeymoon all preserved. I'm not Even showing in the search results, but I can go ahead and send my products to vine reviewers and then who knows by the time my product does launch.
I'll have 23 reviews which is much better than like 0 or 5 or 10 right so what we did is we ask Amazon for some clarification because. It was very little information that we had last week that Amazon showed.
So this is what Amazon sent us and let's go ahead and go into some of these frequently asked questions that people had about this new thing. The first question was, how do I enroll my products in Amazon Vine for prelaunch?
Well, it says, hey, first set your product launch date in the future. We kind of knew that already. And then it just says, hey, then just enroll your product in Amazon Vine using the standard Amazon Vine enrollment.
What products are eligible for prelaunch Amazon Vine reviews? This doesn't change. It's basically anything that you're about to launch or is still in prelaunch phase. How early can I enroll my products in Amazon Vine before the launch date?
It's basically, it says here, as soon as you create your FBA listing, even before inventory is received. That means the listing is created, you can be enrolled already.
Now, the Vine reviewers or what's it called, Vine voices or whatever they're called, They're not going to be able to get the product shipped until you actually send it in,
but here it says, hey, we suggest having it three weeks before your planned launch date. So there's no set limitations as far as it goes, but they suggest doing it, having it in Amazon FBA at least three weeks before your launch date.
So that gives the reviewers time to get the product and leave the reviews. How many early Vine reviews can I have before launch? This is the same. Nothing has changed here.
You can do the two free reviews, the 10 or the 30 based on what you guys are looking for. Another question people ask is, how is the 90-day enrollment period affected by pre-launch enrollment?
The 90-day enrollment period begins when inventory has been received in the Amazon Fulfillment Network. So you can't have a product that's been sitting in Amazon for six months even it has no reviews and then be like,
I want to go ahead and do Vine. This is what that's talking about. This hasn't changed. It's still the same thing. However, the part that is changed is it's based on when it's received in the Amazon Fulfillment Network and buyable,
not from the time of enrollment. Remember, we can enroll a month before the product is buyable. That time period does not count for that 90 days, so that's good to know. Will my pre-launch products be visible to regular customers?
Some have asked that. Very good question. And no, the answer is no. If you're in the pre-launch stage and it's available to Vine, it is not showing up in the search results.
Even if somebody had the link to your listings, they can't go to it and buy the product. When will Amazon Vine Voices be able to order my prelaunch products?
They're going to be able to order the products as soon as inventory has been received. So you can enroll into the Vine program as soon as the FBA listing is created,
but It looks like I was just answering my own question I had a few minutes ago. You cannot actually or the Vine reviewers can't actually order it until it's there in FBA.
Will Amazon Vine reviewers know they're receiving a pre-launch product? Yes. There's going to be an indication on the Vine website, which I've always actually wanted. I'm curious how it looks.
But there's going to be an indication that, hey, this is a pre-launch product. Now, here's a very important one. I've talked to you guys before about how with pricing, When I launch products,
I do a very steep discount or a very low price when I start off. There are two reasons. Number one, that's the Maldives honeymoon strategy. I want to have a good conversion rate even though I have low reviews.
This actually changes that a little bit. I want to have a high velocity of sales on certain keywords so I can increase my keyword rank. That's why I start off with a low price.
The second reason though is because Vine reviewers can always see the actual listing and the price and how it looks and it affects that the way their psychology of how they review is my opinion and others too.
Other people have had this same opinion where if they like a product but they're like, ah, this isn't the best product in the world, but the price is super low,
what would have been a four-star review technically could become a five-star review. Like if the product was $30, they're like, yeah, this is probably worth only $25 because it doesn't seem that great.
I'm going to give it a four-star review. But if you had the price showing like $12, that same person might be like, yeah, I don't really like this too much, but dang, $12 is good. So you know what? I'm going to give it five stars.
It doesn't happen all the time, but again, that's one of the other benefits of starting off at a low price. So then the question is like, are they going to see the price? What are they going to see? What aren't they going to see?
So Amazon answered the question. It says the attributes are going to be pulled from the actual Amazon listing. So they're going to see item name, brand name, bullet points, image, size, color, and price.
What I don't see here is the A plus content, I would assume. A-plus content is going to be available. I'm not sure though, but it's not listed here. Will Amazon Vine reviews be visible to customers before my product officially launches?
Answer, no. Hidden from everyone, including you and the regular customers. Now, that's kind of crazy when you think about it. You're going to have a very limited time when you start your product to know what kind of reviews you got.
That would have been cool like, hey, before my product launch, ooh, I've got 4.8 stars and 25 of them. It sounds like I'm not going to be able to see that until the launch date.
Can I make changes to my product details after enrolling in the pre-launch in Amazon Vine? The answer is yes. Once you create the listing, you're not locked into it. You can go ahead and change bullets and stuff like that.
Lots of good information. Thank you, Amazon, for helping us clarify some of those points. We've got a link to this article in the comments.
Below but I for one am absolutely gonna be start using this unless I was like in a super time crunch where I'm like, hey,
I'm selling You know some Christmas tree ornament or something and I can't wait like an extra 30 days just to get the reviews I need just need to have this product available.
Okay, maybe I won't I won't do this pre-launch thing but as long as I've got time on my hands, I Personally think it's gonna be much better to come out the gate with 2025 reviews,
especially if they're positive instead of starting you know, your cold start, your cold launch with only zero reviews, right? What about you guys? Are you gonna use this? Let me know in the comments below.
All right, next up, we've got our first new feature alert of the week. This was actually kind of like hinted at by Cheval. She kind of let the cat out of the bag. It wasn't supposed to be mentioned until this week,
but this is something new we've got in Keyword Tracker inside of Helium 10. Now, this is important because a lot of you might be coming from other keyword tools that are inferior like,
hey, I want to bring my keywords into Helium 10. Now, the unique thing about Helium 10, remember, that other tools don't have is From day one, if I bring in my keywords from another tool,
we're not importing your ranks from the other keyword tools, but we've got years of history of all keywords. And so as soon as you put your keywords in Helium 10, don't think, oh, I lost all of my XYZ tool keyword ranks from history.
No, we've got, you know, for any keyword that has decent search volume, not like something that has 50 monthly searches, but we've got the history. So that's the first benefit.
Why else would somebody even want to switch to Helium 10? Well, our keyword tracker is just superior. We rotate all the browsing scenarios.
You know, there are so many different browsing scenarios where your keywords might rank depending on your address, depending on the browser you're using.
We're rotating and we even have a rotator that will go 24 times a day that nobody else has. The last reason why people always switch to us over any other keyword tracker is we track all pages of the search results. Nobody else does.
Some people only track page 1, some page 2, up to page 3. We track all pages.
So then, like if you're This podcast is brought to you With another tool or I just found this these 200 keywords in some kind of you know Keyword research tool and I don't want to enter it one by one. It's a keyword tracker.
Let me just bulk upload it Let me bulk upload 50 products, each with 50 keywords, right? In one fell swoop. Instead of having to do it one by one, what you do is you go into your Helium 10 Keyword Tracker,
and then you hit the Add Products button, and there's gonna be a button here that says Bulk Upload. And once you hit that, the next step is, it allows you to bring in this template that is going to,
you fill out this Excel template, Paste all your ASINs, you paste your keywords, then you upload that template, boom goes the dynamite, all your keywords, hundreds, maybe thousands of keywords. We are now in Keyword Tracker. So again,
this is for those of you who have just a whole bunch of keywords and a whole bunch of products you just want to upload at once, or you're making the smart decision to move over from an inferior Keyword Tracker into Helium 10.
Next article is from CNN, and this is entitled, A New TikTok App May Be Coming. Here's What We Know So Far, right? So there's been a lot of rumblings lately that, you know, about, you know, TikTok might finally be sold.
But they're also saying, according to this article and according to others, that what's going to happen is there's going to be a new app coming because maybe TikTok doesn't want to give up all of their secret sauce.
Now, I know for those of you still on TikTok shop, maybe it's got you super worried like, hey, the TikTok algorithm is what made TikTok special, right? And yeah, the TikTok algorithm is cool.
I don't we nobody knows yet how much of the algorithm is going to stay how much it's going to go but I'm not too worried about that as far as like oh my goodness sales are going to be super impacted because now TikTok is going to lose all its data.
It's not going to know who's shopping and it's not going to be able to give relevant things guys that like we all are guilty of doom scrolling like late at night, right? It's not just TikTok though.
I'll find myself in YouTube shorts, in Twitter ex-videos, Facebook videos, Instagram reels. I can get just as addicted in any of those as I am in TikTok.
So I think a lot of technology has come a long way even in the American companies for social media where they know you pretty well and they can show you stuff that will keep you hooked. So even if the full algorithm is lost,
I don't think it's going to be a big impact too much on sales. But that being said, If there is a new app,
that means there's a new TikTok shop thing and that means there's going to be a lot of migration and who knows what errors are going to be or what migration issues they have, especially if this is going to happen in the next few months.
So I think you should be prepared for possible hiccups in your TikTok shop sales. I'm not saying this out of any place of knowledge or I have inside information. I'm just saying, hey, the news is saying there's going to be a new app.
If there's a new app, There could be hiccups because things don't always work completely smoothly. So just keep that in mind that new TikTok app may be coming.
If you're selling on TikTok shop, might be some hiccups and might be some new things, integrations that you have to do. Who knows? Maybe the way you connect your TikTok account to Helium 10, who knows what's going to be on the horizon,
but just be prepared. All right, next up, we've got our strategy of the week and this one's going to be by Carrie. This is one of my favorite things. This is a super quick, less than two minute strategy, I think,
but you probably don't realize that You can just be searching and with no clicks at all, you're going to instantly know who are the top three clicked products on any search result in Amazon.
And this is data coming directly from Amazon, not necessarily Helium 10. So Carrie, let us know how to access this information.
Speaker 2:
Did you know that you can actually see which products were the top three most clicked in Amazon search results? Now, why does this matter and how can it make you more money?
Well, sometimes you don't want to do a deep dive into search query performance or brand analytics on Amazon or Helium 10.
So maybe you're just casually browsing Amazon, whether as a buyer or a seller looking for inspiration for products to sell. Well, if you've got your Helium 10 account connected to Seller Central and you have brand registry,
it doesn't matter what level plan that you have on Helium 10, you can actually see the top three most clicked products in any search results without even clicking anything. So let me show you how this works. So in this example,
I've actually searched wooden egg holder because one of our products that we sell at Helium 10 is our wooden egg holder. Basically, if you scroll down, you're going to be able to see the top clicked.
Right here, we can see the top clicked product is this product and this is the second top clicked. If you hover over the little banner, you can see the conversion rate as well.
So this product is the top clicked product and it has a conversion rate of 20%. If we go over here, this product is the second most clicked product on this keyword and it has a conversion rate of 10%.
So that's helpful information right there. Maybe there's something else that you can do to kind of help with the conversion rate. What is this product doing that we aren't? Maybe we don't have A plus content.
Know all dialed in or maybe our images need improvement. So you can kind of do a deep dive there with this information. In addition, there is also a third clicked but it's kind of farther down the page.
So what you can do is say if your product is in the top three most clicked products and you want to kind of move up to the top, well,
you already know that you're actually converting well for this keyword and people actually are choosing your product even though you're all the way down to the bottom of the page. Well,
now you can kind of run sponsored ads to get to the top of the search because you have a really good chance of getting a lot more clicks and conversions by doing that so you can improve your rank as well with that.
So this tool is really, really helpful. It's absolutely amazing and no other tool gives you this visibility right inside of Amazon in the search results. So if you're a seller and you've got the Chrome extension, use it.
It's powerful, it's fast, and it can make you more money just by showing you where you already stand.
Speaker 1:
All right. Thank you very much, Carrie, for that. So guys, if you're not using that, when you're just doing cursory research or just maybe even you're shopping,
start looking out for that little bar that says number one most clicked, number two most clicked, and don't forget to put your mouse over to see what percentage of the conversions it has too.
Next article is from Influencer Marketing Hub and it's called Amazon Supercharges Influencer Earnings For Prime Day. So the Influencer Commission sometimes was even doubled it looks like during Prime Day.
Now the reason I mention this is twofold. First of all, Helium 10 has a lot of tools that help people who are influencers make videos.
It allows you to search for profitable products that there's a good opportunity to have your video up in the carousel, etc. So number one, keep in mind, it looks like Amazon might be giving bonuses on special days. So who knows?
This might happen in Prime Day or Black Friday coming up, the Cyber Weekend. Where maybe if you're an influencer, you can get some extra commissions, but also this,
that means it's a good time for us who are Amazon sellers and not influencers to reach out to influencers. So, you know, see if you know, like if any of these special shopping days,
there's going to be extra bonuses for influencers to promote Amazon products. It's a good time. They're going to be more engaged if you try and reach out to these influencers to promote your products,
especially if you've got a deal going and they're getting extra commissions. We've got another new feature alert and this is in Helium 10 ads. This is going to be a new way to create campaigns.
Those of you who use Helium 10 ads, you hit the campaign creation button and now there is a super wizard. I'm not the one who named this guy. This is pretty cool. We have a super wizard campaign creation.
And what this does is it allows you, let me go ahead and just pick some random products here. It allows you to really customize like the way you have your naming, all right? So everybody has their own strategy.
And let me just tell you guys right off the bat, I don't care if you're using Helium 10 ads or not, this is important guys. Have a naming strategy.
Put the ASIN, put the branding, put something in your campaign names so that when you need to go back and just like surface certain campaigns, it's going to be easy no matter what tool you're using to kind of like quickly filter it.
But anyways, because everybody has their own ways of how they want to name it, that's why we now have this super custom thing here where you can actually create different naming structures. Like here I can say I have my campaign type.
My match type, my keyword type,
my targeting type and then ASIN or I can even put my own custom text right here and then once that happens I just hit next and now all of a sudden I've got tons of campaigns that I can even change the name of and then right here I can make up to like 10,
15, 20 campaigns or more based on what my goal is of whatever product that I'm We're trying to go ahead and do so. This is those of you who create campaigns in Helium 10 ads. This is something that you sellers were asking for.
So make sure to play around with this. Let us know what you think and if there's some other tweaking that you'd like us to do. Something to keep in mind, guys, we have a TikTok shop Facebook community.
So if you have not been there yet, go to h10.me forward slash TikTok group. H10.me forward slash TikTok group. And once you go there,
it'll there'll be a form to like sign up in your Facebook account and sign up and start asking questions to the community. We only have like 50 people here right now. We just started this TikTok shop sellers group by Helium 10.
Get in there, start asking questions. I might have some like maybe contests or something for those who generate the most, I was about to say pulses, that's Monday.
Those who generate the most Facebook threads, we'll probably pick you for some kind of prize, but just get in there, learn from the people who are posting in there and ask questions as well.
Next up, just a reminder, next week, next Friday, we have a monthly AI workshop. This is something new we did. We just started that last month in June. We call it AIM, AI Monthly.
These are monthly workshops where we bring in different speakers that are talking about how we can leverage AI in our e-commerce businesses. If you remember last month, it was Andrew Bell, had a great session.
You can see the replay of that on our YouTube channel. This next week, it's going to be Ritu Java, one of the top minds in the world for AI.
She's going to talk about how to leverage AI from anything from keyword research to product research and more, completely different topics than what Andrew was talking about. So if you want to join, make sure to go sign up. It's next Friday.
Go to h10.me forward slash aim, a-i-m, July, all lowercase, h10.me forward slash aim. Next up, our last new feature alert, and this is for Helium 10 Elite members,
but don't tune out because pretty much the stuff that goes to Helium 10 Elite members, it'll at least, almost everything eventually gets to Diamond members and sometimes even Platinum. So this is in our Search Query Performance tool.
So this is our Search Query Performance tool, it's called Search Query Performance. Analyzer, so those of you who are Helium 10 Elite members, you now have this AI Analysis toggle and if you select that and then hit Apply AI Analysis,
you're still going to get all the regular information below about, hey, what keywords did you get the most purchases from and what's your conversion rate. But now, you're going to have this new button called View AI Analysis.
And if you hit that, it opens up a new window that has these pre-populated charts that are all done by AI. Like for example, it's going to show me my best conversion rate keywords.
Like look at this, coffin, gift box large, I had a 40% conversion rate. Good grief, right? It's going to show me what were the top sales keywords, what were the top search volume keywords.
Let us know, are some of these completely useless to you? Are some of them really good? Is something missing here? Let us know what you would like to see so that even with just one click,
without having to look at all the information that's coming up in your search query performance, you might get some data that you like. We're going to also have a keyword performance matrix where you can see exactly how,
compare the conversion rate to number of impressions. You can compare your product's price to the market price. You can look at your funnel analytics. So many cool things.
We instantly highlight to you like high value, low visibility keywords, right? So for this, it basically means that, hey, for some of these keywords, the impressions was way less than the search volume.
So there could be an opportunity for something to be done where I can start showing up more because I'm already getting good sales for a keyword.
We also have these different kind of like preset filters that are called like underrated converters. Like what are the ones where my sponsored rank is below 10 but my conversion rate is better than the market conversion rate?
Hey, what are some keywords where my performance has dropped, right? Like before I was getting purchases but now I'm not getting purchases or my conversion rate has gone down.
There are so many different things here that are now preset but this is just the beginning. We're probably going to want to put something in here that actually gives you like an AI gen AI kind of like interface where you can be like,
hey, show me all of my best converting keywords. So this is our first kind of like dabble with AI in relation to search for performance. You elite members, I need you to get in there, play around with it,
let us know in the elite Facebook group what you want. Even if you're not elite, just based on this video, send us some feedback into Helium 10, into customer service.
Hey, based on Bradley's weekly buzz, that's really cool that you guys are using AI for presets for search tree performance. This is what I would really like to see so that maybe by the time it's ready for Diamond,
if you've got Diamond, Now, we'll have that new feature for you. Elite members, check it out. The rest of you, rewind this and let us know what you would like in this tool for once you have access to it.
Last thing of the day today is our last call for our casting call for Project X Season 2. This is going to be a multifaceted case study that we're doing. It's not going to be called Project X. This is going to be very high tech.
We have Hollywood film crew coming in. This is crews that have worked with everybody from Mr. Beast to other popular things. It's not just going to be, hey, how do I get started on Amazon?
I'm going to be like, hey, how do I start a business on TikTok shop? Hey, how can I go from six figures to seven figures? How do I start from scratch? I've never sold online before in my life. I want to start on Amazon.
And how do I expand to other marketplaces? So there's going to be a lot of tracks. So here's what I'm casting for, guys. There's two things here. The video that you guys see on this page that you need to submit,
it's mainly kind of like talking about your 60-second or 90-second story about why you want to get this kind of scholarship because some of the ones who get picked will get like $10,000 worth of funded products that we're actually going to get for you and we're going to have a whole bunch of experts help you on this show.
You might put a video for that, but what I'm also casting for guys is our guest mentors. We have a big network. Obviously,
people have been on this podcast and other professionals who are We're definitely already going to be coming in and helping some of our contestants on this to help them with everything from product research to keyword research to listing optimization,
etc., etc. But are you in Southern California? Are you willing to just come out here and you're like, hey, I need to get exposure for my agency or I just want to do it out of the kindness of my heart?
This is going to be seen by hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. So if you think that you can help as a mentor on a certain aspect of the e-commerce journey,
be it sourcing and you've got like advanced tactics and a strong resume and you're great in front of the camera, send it out. Send in a video at the same place on the same link, which is h10.me forward slash px2.
Send in a video where you're like, hey, I would love to be a Project X mentor, and this is why I think I'm good. Tell us your qualifications. Hey, I work for the top agency of TikTok or whatever the case is,
and we'll consider you to invite you to come in for our filming, which will be in August. So last call is our last call because we've got to finalize everything probably by next week since we're going to start filming in a few weeks.
So h10.me forward slash px2, submit your video, whether you're interested in being one of the contestants and one of the people that we're going to be training on the show,
or if you want to be one of the mentors on the show, think like American Idol, you know, the guest singers who would come in each week to help the students. So make sure to sign up now.
All right, guys, thank you so much for tuning in this week. Don't forget to tune in next week to see what's buzzing.
