Welcome to the Marketing Misfits podcast. Hey, hey, it's the Misfits. It's your good old buddies, uh, Norm Ferrar and Kevin King. What makes a pitch really memorable? You don't need to be memorable. You need to be effective. You need to get a yes. I don't care if you remember my pitch. I just care you want to do business with me. ChatG is going to kill Google. Google saw because of their AI overviews a roughly 10% increase in usage. Google's already at 13.7 billion. That number is just increasing. Chat GPT just announced that they're on a10 billion annual recurring revenue run rate. How are these platforms really killing each other? They're not. The fact that I have a Fortune 500 company, that's crazy. My husband and I, we we barely know what we're doing. We started this company with our own credit cards. We just own the company. It's just the two of us. People don't yet understand how LLMs are going to be delivering content. It's going to be more granular and more contextualized and more personalized than any other content delivery mechanism humanity has ever known, including personto person. There's new science that just came out that says that suggestions from an LLM convert at nine times the rate of an ad. The way LLMs work is they are looking for trust signals. So, they're looking for social media posts and comments. They're reading Reddit posts. They're reading Tik Tok stuff. They're looking for press releases. They're looking for blog posts from reputable sites. Yesterday and today, my videos have gone completely viral on Tik Tok and they hadn't in 3 or 4 months. So, it's such an enormous up and down on Tik Tok. You have to be prepared for that. You know, you might have a million5 month, the next month is $400,000. How do you purchase inventory for that? There's a lot of people that are having problems with Tik Tok Shop. Can you tell us a little bit about the dos and the don'ts? Don't work with big influencers. work with the smaller influencers for so many reasons. The brand owner should be spending their time on building the brand, not worrying about and babysitting the manufacturer, which is what a ton of time goes into if they don't have the right partners. So, there's a lot of manufacturing of supplements sold in the US, done in the US, or still some done overseas. I always focus on the life force eight. It is the eight emotions that cause someone to buy. Dr. Squatch, they sell soap for men. And we're all dudes, right? Like, I don't care what soap I use. So, how do you get dudes to buy soap? What you do is you make ads with a bunch of hot women going up to their guys and going, "Man, you smell so good." What they're doing is they're selling sex, which is one of the Life Force 8. Are you training people to do the work? Are you training people to train the software to do the work? I ended up with about $400 $500,000 in debt the same week my son was born. You think you have all these comforts. You have the two cars. You have a big beautiful home. All of a sudden, I woke up one day and there is a tow truck backing up and repossessing one of the cars. I had to go bankrupt because my two partners ended up cooking two books. You can't just do SEO on Google. You got to do SEO on all the platforms because that's where the attention is. It's really divided and if you're not everywhere, you're going to miss out on a lot of revenue. What's one of your top strategies that you're willing to share? People never bought anything because they needed it. They buy it cuz they want it. And your job as an expert pitcher is get them to want whatever it is that you have. Thank you for watching the Marketing Misfits podcast.
