Transcript
Like today we've got an incredible like Kevin says a ridiculous webinar and it's not typical of what we normally will be talking about and I guess the topic is called what chapp what chat GPT secretly search uh secretly searches before recommending brands and we got talking to the um owner of this company what about two months ago Kev >> probably about Yeah. >> And he just blew us away. So, we wanted to bring his technology and spotlight it today on this uh on this webinar. So, in the webinar today, Kevin, what what are people going to learn? >> You'll learn about what AEO is, which some of you know because I've been harping on it uh with with Dragonfish and with the newsletter and stuff. He's going to show you a few things that you might not know. And then he's going to show you how to optimize for it and a really badass way that you can get some data that you can actually take it and go do it. How to get a report. They they'll show you how to take your website, your Shopify site, your landing page, your Woo Commerce. Doesn't work on Amazon. So, if you're just selling on Amazon, this is not going to be for you. If you only sell on Amazon, this will not apply. Or Walmart. This is if you have your own own website like blog, Shopify site, something along those lines where you're trying to drive traffic that might be redirected to Amazon or maybe it's happening on your Shopify, but or maybe you're just trying to get publicity. You got landing pages and you're just trying to get some publicity out there for your brand and you don't really sell um and maybe after seeing this webinar, you you're like, you know what, I actually need to go set up use Claude or something or Vibe code a few landing pages and set some stuff up. It's going to show you exactly uh what's happening out there and how to keep up with everything. It's going to be going to be awesome. >> And you you know the one other thing that we should talk about is the crazy bonus. So everybody everybody on the call today has access to this $500 bonus that uh Nick and his team are giving away. >> Yeah. You don't buy >> talk about >> You don't have to buy anything either, Norm. You don't have to buy anything either to get the bonus. >> You don't have to buy anything. This is a freebie for anybody on the call. And when you see the report, I've been in the business for a long time. Kevin's been in the business for a long time. You're going to do a backflip. Even me, the old guy, the old Fossil, did a backflip when I saw the the report. This is not just a simple audit report. These guys go through every nook and cranny on your website and show you exactly or tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it. All right. So now there is limited uh space for this. Uh there is a re there is a replay a available most of the time when we do these uh webinars there's no replay but in this one there is that correct Kev? >> Yeah there'll be a replay and it'll be up on our YouTube channel the Misfits YouTube channel uh within 48 hours we'll have that up there. So, if you have to step away, hopefully not because there is something for the first 40 people that give their uh URL. No, no, you don't have to pay anything. Uh but to give your you get some bonus uh stuff on top of that. So, you probably want to be here to get that. Uh but if you miss it or need to go back and watch it again or have to step away, we will have the replay up on the Misfits channel. Speaking of the Misfits channel, Norm, what is that? >> Misfits channel. Uh if you have never uh heard of the marketing misfits, this is a podcast that Kevin and I uh have and it it's really cool. What we do is we'll go out there and find uh individuals, entrepreneurs, people who think outside of the box to have success or if there's hurdles that they've had to overcome to meet that success. So, if you want to check that out, you can go to our YouTube channel. That's MarketingMisfits Podcast. Or if you just want these short little clips, uh, three minutes or less, you can go over to Marketing Misfits, uh, clips, and we've had some great guests. We've had Neil Patel on there. Uh, we gosh, how many Kevin, help me out here. >> We've had we've had a lot of guests. We've had Neil Patel, Adley Kinsman. Uh, we just had Ezra Firestone coming coming up soon. We've had Forbes Riley. Uh it's a it's a who's whose list of marketers out there. So it's not really just an Amazon podcast. It's more internet marketing uh as well. So we do have some Amazon guests that you might know, but a lot of people from the internet marketing world um like our guest today uh would be one that's will probably be on an upcoming podcast as well. >> Ask them. >> Yeah. Which may even be he either him or someone from the company may be at market masters as well. And if you don't want to like I you're like, "Dude, I don't got time to listen to an hour podcast every week because it comes out every Tuesday." We have a newsletter that comes out every Wednesday. It's totally free. It's called once a week. It's you can scan that QR code or go to misfits.news. It's the reaction we're getting from the newsletter. It just started uh in March. It's really, really good. It's very skimable, very easy to read, very action-packed, and we take the the content from the the podcast and then we uh add some stuff to it. It's uh if you haven't checked it out, I encourage everybody on here to at least give it a shot for a couple weeks. You can always unsubscribe, but I think you'll find some really good value in it. So, it's at misfit misfits.news. >> We're a little biased. >> Yeah, we're a little biased, but it is. But we the response we've had quite a few people email say this is really, really cool. Um, also don't forget for those of you Market Masters 4 is coming up in Austin next month at four weeks from today. Literally four weeks from today, 28 days from today, people will be checking in at this 18,000 foot mansion. And you see in the picture here, it's got uh where it's looks like a tennis ball court on the right hand side. It's a little bit older picture now as that's covered. It's indoor pickle ball courts. Uh it's right on the lake. Austin Lake is full right now. So, it's going to be gorgeous. We're doing an event there. Uh about a hundred people. This is not a presentation. Listen to a lot of powerpoints. This is hot seats. This is workshops. It's really, really cool. You can go to marketmasters4.com and check that out. There's one hot seat left out of nine. Eight are taken. There's one left and then there's about, excuse me, about 13 of the uh audience tickets left. So, if you don't want to sit in a hot seat, but you want to be there and rub elbows with some of the who's who of internet marketing and Amazon and e-commerce, this is where you want to be. Um, it's changed his lives. We've had people go from a million and a half to 20 million. People go from 110 to 200 million. People go from negative8% profit to plus 24% profit. Uh the connections you make, the room that you're in, it's just you can't you can't compare. I cover all your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My masseuse is there, my trainer is there. Um it's a it's a it's a badass weekend. A lot of people that have been to like Nashville or been to Hawaii or been to Iceland or some of my other events. Those are all great, but almost to a tea, everybody says this is their favorite event, not only of mine, but in the entire industry. So, if you haven't been to one, check out marketmasters4.com. And if you want to come, just because you're on this webinar, you're taking an hour out of your day today. I want to give you 50% off those last seats. So, that that's that last hot seat. If you want that last hot seat, uh it's going to save you like five grand uh or four four almost five grand. You can grab that lost house seat or if you want to come, it's going to cost instead of 4,000 2,000 bucks to come. It's a mistake if you if you're serious about your business. Um it's a mistake if you don't come. I would carve it out. Even you got something else that weekend, if you could move it, I would I would be there. It's gamechanging for everybody that's there and it's a lot of fun um as well. So just jot down that mm50 off. Mm50. That's not two zeros after each other. That's MM50 and then O FF. It kind of looks like a 500 there. But uh use that code and that'll get you uh 50% off. One quick note before we get bring on our guest is Norm and I Norm is in Austin right now at my place and he's been here since Sunday and we're putting the final touches on dragonfish. Some of you may have heard about dragonfish. We've been talking about it for a while. We've been working pretty hard the last 3 months. Have a few clients in beta right now. We're launching them next week. Uh and then August 6, we're going to show you what we're doing. These five beta clients have seen it. Some of our suppliers and some of the people we work with have seen what we're doing. And every one of them to a tea is like, "Holy shit." Uh this is like nothing like it. You've heard our specialty is email marketing. And you you may have heard of agencies that do email marketing. They come in, they help you do a welcome flow. They clean your list, maybe they set up your uh abandoned carts. They do some basic stuff. This is nothing like that. This is next level. And the brains that we create, you'll see it on August 6. We're going to show you and we'll take on a limited number of uh clients on that day. Uh and you want to be in this. It's crazy what this does. And we also mix in uh in AEO, too. So, we build landing pages. It has all this AO some of what our guest today is going to be showing you baked into it as well. So, just mark your calendars. You'll get a link probably next week. You'll get an email with a link to register for this. We're going to take you behind the scenes and show you what we're doing. And I think everybody is going to be uh blown away. And I'm not just saying that egotistically or because it's ours, but everybody we've shown it to, that's been their reaction. So, uh mark that down. All right, let's get started with today's content. Our guest today is Nick Morgan. Uh he's the CEO and founder of of many many different companies, but this is someone we were Norman and I were just at uh dinner last night uh with some with a group of people. There's a mastermind in town. So we we went to dinner with about 12 people and one of the person there were like, "Yeah, we're doing a" She's like, "I hear you're doing a webinar tomorrow." We're like, "Yeah." And we start telling her what the webinar is about. And she's like, "The person on here doesn't have to be happen to be Nick Morgan that's doing that for you, right?" That's we're like, "Yeah." She's like, "Oh my." She's like, "Oh my god, that guy, do you know his background?" She's like, "Do you know his background? What he's done?" I'm like, "Yeah, I've seen his bio." She's like, "No, you don't understand. This guy is like done billions of dollars in e-commerce sales, raised money, worked with NFL teams, Fortune50 brands, had several worked with startups that had exits, done a lot of stuff himself. This he's like her words, this is a smart person." She's like, "He's one of the smartest guys when it comes to internet marketing technology." ran I think his SEO companies like for 17 years or something like that. I had just it's just crazy ridiculous. Um $20 billion in client revenue. Um it's everything's got a B on it basically. So he doesn't touch anything unless it has a B on it. He's like those M's, little M's and uh you know T's for thousands, we don't mess around with there. So, he's going to show you what what you need to be thinking about when it comes to AEO and then show you how to crush it with with what you have on your website now and how to completely change the game with whatever you're doing on your own website. So, with that, Nick, uh, welcome, man. Uh, glad to have you here. I'm going to turn this over to you. >> Yeah, I'm I'm so excited to be here, Kevin. Norm, thanks for having me, everyone. I am so excited. This is my favorite topic ever to cover because it changes every single time I talk about it. Things are moving so fast in the AI space as we all know. It's hard to keep up and most people are falling behind faster and faster. And so, you know, my my mission, you know, with everything that we've done and part of the reason we're giving things away for free with no expectations here is that I worked with those billion-dollar brands, right? And what I came to find out is that I I thought it was unfair. I thought it was unfair that you only got access to these tools and strategies if you had billion-dollar budgets. And so that's where we came in and built systems and engineered tools and created strategies that allowed us to deliver results for small and medium-sized businesses. And so what I'd like to do before we jump into the the the kind of the meat of what we're going to go through today is ask a couple of questions. And Kevin, I've got a question for you, and I'd like to everyone to answer in the chat, too. But have you noticed that the way you've searched has changed in the last couple of years? >> Oh, yeah. >> So, so how do you search now, Kevin? >> I ask questions. Uh, and I I ask questions more than I type in keywords. Um, quite a bit more. >> Yeah. And and that's that's what's kind of scary right now. People have fundamentally changed in how they interact with search and discover things and like get information. But here's my my second question and most people understand that. Do you ask your AI questions before you buy something? >> Yeah, I do I do a lot of research. And so, not only are you going out to discover information, but you're going out and asking your AI that knows you questions that will help you to either decide or not decide to buy a product. >> And what's amazing is like I I have a little uh docin puppy and I'll ask something, you know, related to her and it doesn't just say, "Oh, the best bed is this or the best treat is this." it will relate everything I've done in the past and come back and say, "Oh, because you have a 15-month old dachshun and because of some other question I asked at this and this and this, this is what I recommend." >> Yeah. And and that's that's what's crazy is that most people haven't done anything about this. And that's that's a scary thing. But if you're sitting here listening to that and you're like, "Oh no, what am I going to do?" That's what we're going to talk about today. And so I'm going to jump in and pull up my screen here. All right. Questions here. I've got two more and then we'll keep going. And so you know in the chat let me know who here has heard of AEO. I imagine a good amount if you're on this call because about AO you've at least heard about it. you know, a little bit. And yeah, it looks like everyone is is saying, "Yeah, they're excited." Yes. Yes. I love it. So, that's a good question. Here's my next question. Who here has a plan to rank on the answer engines? They came in today with a plan. They know exactly what they need to do to rank. And so, if you do, great. We're going to talk a little bit about how to, you know, enhance that. if you don't, but we're going to give give you exactly what you need to do to start dominating those AI searches. So, for those of you who may not know what AEO is, it stands for answer engine optimization. And so, this is what we do to make sure we're showing up in tools like Chat GPT, Plexity, Grock, Claude, and Gemini, AI overviews, all of that. And so, it's the most important thing in the market today. And most people aren't paying attention to it. And what you're going to see a little bit later is it's more than what you think. It's more than just Gemini. It's more than just chat GBT. It impacts everything along the customer journey. And what we want to look at here is why do we care about AEO today? And some of it's obvious, but this exploded in about a 12-month period. We went from in late 2025, virtually no one knew what it was to hitting a hundred on Google Trends in just a matter of 12 months. And so people were early in like that December, November period of 2025. But as of now, if you haven't started doing taking action, you're starting to become on the late end of the curve. And so we're still right at that peak where there's a lot of opportunity, but that that opportunity is going to become more and more difficult to take advantage of if we don't start moving sooner rather than later. And so, as you may be aware, things have fundamentally changed even with traditional search and it's scaring a lot of brands and it's causing a lot of problems. And so if we fast forward to 2022 or rewind to 2022, what you'll notice is that we had 26% of search end without a click. So the majority of search ended with a click. Someone would click, take action, look at a website. And what's going on now is we have seen that flip. 83% of search now ends without a click. That means only 17% of the time someone is clicking through to take action. And that means that a lot is going on that we need to be taking advantage of. And most people think that this is the end of the world. This is the end of search. This is going to be a problem for our businesses. And a lot of businesses it it is. But in reality, it's an opportunity. But most people aren't approaching it in that way. And so what we know now is traditional search is dying and it's only accelerating. and answer engine users are up three and a halfx in the last 6 months. Three and a halfx in the last 6 months. AI queries and Google Google announced this AI queries are are doubling every quarter. Not every year, not every six months, every single quarter. And what we're going to see is that continue and we're only going to see it accelerate um with what's going on. And so what we're also seeing is that Google is on track for 100% of all search to be AI in the coming weeks. And so that's huge. 100% of all search is going to be AI within the coming weeks. And so let's think about what that actually means from a search perspective. It means search changed overnight when chatbt launched. And what we're seeing is that the average person is spending about 13 minutes on AI search. 13 minutes on AI search. That's compared to about 76 seconds on traditional search. That is a 10.7 times increase in the amount of attention that is being spent before someone takes action. They're spending 13 minutes. When's the last time you spent 13 minutes doing anything on Google? That's fundamental. That's what's happening. And it's because people are going deep. They're making decisions. So, while we're getting fewer clicks, we're seeing far more conversion. But the secret here is that only people that aren't adapting, only people that aren't adapting are seeing the drop in traffic. The people that are keeping up with the trends and keeping up with the changes are seeing a massive increase in the traffic that's available right now. And so what does 10.7x more time on search actually mean? It means better site visits. It means better leads. It means better results. And we're seeing as high as a nine times better conversion rate from AI traffic. Now, for a while, I was telling people this was the most important slide on my in my entire presentation. It's been trumped by a few others because things change so much. But what you'll notice is in October of last year, we were hovering around 15% of all search being AI based. And then all of a sudden we see that skyrocket to 60% in February. Now you remember those two questions I asked earlier. Who knows what AEO is? Who has a plan to rank on AEO? I was in a room in February talking to 70 of the largest brands in the world, billion-dollar brands, and I asked them, "Who here has a plan to rank on AI engines or on AEO? Who has a plan to rank using AEO? And who knows what it is?" Two people, two out of 70 raised their hands. The other 68 didn't even know what AEO was. And that's starting to change. People now know what it is, but those big brands don't move fast enough to take action. And so we saw for the first time ever in February of this year that the primary search surface in the world changed. It was no longer traditional Google search and it was AI based search. And here's why this matters. You'll notice that this is a standard thing that we'll see on Google. At the top we see an ad. One ad, not multiple, one ad. And then we see the AI overviews. That's 58% of the above the fold space dedicated to AI overviews. What you don't see, what you don't see is the 10 blue links that were so important for years. And what's scary about this for people is that only three to five brands can show up in the AI overview. There's no page two. There's no scrolling. This is it. This is what you get. If you're there, you're visible. If you're not, you get lost. Now, it's only gotten more extreme. What you'll see here, uh, is a search that I did asking where's the best place to buy used golf clubs with fast shipping. And what you'll notice there's no ad. It pops up the ask anything. So, it's prompting me to dive deeper. This wasn't me clicking on anything. This is how Google showed up when I asked this question. It recommended three brands. No one else is getting to show up here. And so what matters here is that it's only getting more extreme, especially in e-commerce. And what it is is sometimes 100% of the above the fold space is dedicated to the AI overview. And Google's moving more and more in that direction every single day. Then a few weeks ago, Google changed search forever. They got rid of the search bar and they replaced it with an ask bar. Now, this was the biggest change that Google's made to search in 25 years. Hands down, the way people interact with Google as a platform is to ask questions now. And when you ask a question, you are putting in between 60 and 80 words versus traditional search, which was 3 to five. Now, you don't have to take my word for it. Here's exactly what Google said with convenient parking. And now we're entering the next chapter of Google Search, where incredible AI features aren't just in search. Google Search is AI search through and through. And you heard it, Google is saying themselves, Google is now AI search. There is no traditional search anymore. There is no algorithms. It's all agentic. And that is what's controlling what's ranking. And what we do to rank for AI is different than what we do to rank for organic. But it goes so much deeper. And so listen to how much this is changing things. Now, to start, I'm excited to announce we're launching a brand new intelligent search box. Before the search box was a contained space, but now it's totally reimagined with AI. It expands with your curiosity. And as you ask, search helps you formulate your questions with AI powered suggestions. This goes beyond autocomplete. It offers nuances that you might not have even thought to add, helping you take the exact question on your mind and ask it with ease. This new search box puts our most powerful AI tools right at your fingertips. And you can ask across modalities with text, images, files, videos, and search reasons across them all. Now, this is the biggest upgrade to our iconic search box since its debut over 25 years ago and is starting to roll out today. And so that is one what I want to call out the biggest change to Google search in 25 years. And if you looked carefully at how that interaction went, it's almost impossible now to have a short question. It's pushing you to get more detailed. It's enhancing the way that you search to curate and target a solution for you. And what they also announced at this event is that they're integrating AI into all facets of Google. And that means AEO is important no matter what platform you're using. And so AO is going to impact search. It's going to impact YouTube. It's going to impact email. In fact, what Google announced is that when you optimize for AEO, it's going to enhance what you see in the email and how likely something's end up in spam or not. And so, as we learn more, we can control how Google is going to recommend us across all different types of platforms that Google owns. And that same thing applies whether we're using Claude or C-Pilot or any of the other AI tools out there. And so it's incredibly impactful. Now what you've seen is kind of how big the opportunity is to come. But what's really powerful is that the opportunity is is resetting. And so what you want to think about is if we were 25 years ago and we were the first to rank in organic search, think about how impactful that would have been for that 25 year period to follow. What you would have seen is that once you got to that number one spot, it was hard to be unseated. It was hard for someone to take you take over that top spot. You became king of the hill. And that's kind of the opportunity that we're exploring right now is that ability to become that new number one and then once we have it, own it for as long as humanly possible until the next big thing comes. And who knows when that will be. But Google gave us 25 years of dominance for those early movers. And that's where we're at now. There's still opportunity, but that time is running out before enough people start to adopt and take take uh advantage of what's going on. Now, the big brands, they're suffering because they're not adapting. HubSpot lost 80% of its traffic almost overnight. And it's widespread. Huffington Post was down about 34% year-over-year. And that's nearly 800 million visitors. And it's impacting big companies like Wayfair. In one month, Wayfair lost 42% of its organic traffic one month. These retail dominoes are falling because they aren't able to adapt. And this is from June. This is recent. This isn't from, you know, earlier in the year when things are starting to roll out. They saw a 42% decrease in June. Things are hitting them very, very hard. And it's because they're not adapting to the new reality. They're not moving fast enough. And the CEOs are saying it out loud. This is a direct quote from NAS CEO Roger Lynch. Assume there's no search. Plan your business as if search is zero. And what they're talking about there is traditional search. And these brands, they're not moving fast enough because they don't know what to do. and they've got these big teams with big budgets and they aren't nimble enough to move and take advantage of what's going on, creating this unique opportunity for everyone else that wants to be competitive. And you're seeing this across the public markets. CEOs are saying it too. Like CHEG, they in Q1 reported a 48% decline in revenue, laid off 45% of their staff, and they're currently suing Google over AI overviews. Nerd Wallet in Q1, they named AI overviews as a material headwind that's causing a decline in their business. They sell their products and they're down about 25% in that first quarter. People, Inc. Q1 CEO cited that Google search traffic is declining by double digits and that they're pivoting their strategy to generate revenue off Google. And it's widespread. Stack Overflow down 76% in question volume. Business Insider down 55% in organic traffic. laid 21% of their staff off. Daily Mail is down 89% in click-through rates. WebMD down 43% in monthly visitors. They went from 122 monthly or million visitors to 70 million visitors. And Wikipedia, interestingly, is down 23% in human visits. And for the first time ever, agents and bots are the number one source of traffic for Wikipedia. And so what we've established here is that the dominance is gone. Those early SEO movers had that 20 years of dominance and that's been completely erased and their big budgets and big teams simply aren't nimble enough to adjust to the new reality. And so what I want to talk about now is is the strategy. But what you're going to hear a lot out out there is that good SEO will lead to good AEO. The truth is good AO will improve your SEO. In fact, they work in the exact opposite way. The way that SEO would work is you'd go out, Google would crawl your site, understand what it's about. They look at the behind-the-scenes information, and then based on that, they'd go out and look at your backlink profile, and then use all that information to determine what and where you should rank. Now, AEO does the complete opposite. It starts by going out and saying, who's the authority in this space? So, it looks for things like press releases, content, third party verification. Then, it's going to go and look at the behind-the-scenes data, and that's where it's using things like token rationing to understand, are you relevant? Are you potentially the right choice? And at any point along that path, if you say, if it says no or if it's unsure, it doesn't even look at your structured content. So, only after you pass all that that information, all those checks, will it even look at your content. And so all these people that have been focused on content for years on their site are missing out because a lot of the times you're either blocked because you don't have the thirdparty verifications and data or you're blocked because your site is causing issues and blocking you from ranking. And that's where the opportunity lies. But most importantly, what we need to do is stop optimizing for algorithms and we need to optimize for AI agents because AI agents are now the ones that determine what's going to show up and what's not. And so there are four core optimizations that we're going to need to be doing. The first one are the technical optimizations. This is where you have to start. These are the blockers that I was talking about. It doesn't matter if you have a great third party reputation, you have great content, if when the AI actually gets to your site, it can't access the information or doesn't get the right signals to be able to recommend you. So you have to start here. and we're going to go through some of the examples of what these technical optimizations look like. And then when we go through the the audits with you, and when you get those, we'll go through each issue uh line by line and explain how to resolve those. But without resolving these technical issues, we can't rank or be cited in the AI engines. The second component of ranking is the content optimizations. Now, these are us putting out content. One of the things that I love about AEO is that your AI agents know everything there is to know about you. And so for brands like you, what this creates is the opportunity for us to localize our content. And now think about that. If it knows that someone is a really good golfer, for example, it's going to recommend different types of clubs than it would for a beginner. And your AI is going to know that about you. And so if you specialize in selling golf clubs to advanced players, you're going to create content that's localized to that group and you could show up for broader searches. So if I type in I'm looking for golf clubs as an example, it's going to go out and find advance like advanced golf or golf clubs versus if someone that isn't good is going to go out and try and find that even if I do that general search. And so for e-commerce brands, this creates an opportunity where we can rank for things that would never be possible to rank for in traditional search because AI is going to find the right buyer and map our solution to that buyer as long as we're sending the right signals. And so we do this through on-site content and off-site content. On-site content is going to be things like articles, blogs, FAQs. Those are the critical things that we want to do there. Off-site content is going to be posting on third-party sites. So, for example, press releases are one of the biggest needle movers. Cloud stacks are another option. And it posting on certain uh brand assets. So, if you have a brand profile on Google or a Google business profile, you can post on there about certain content and that helps to rank as well. Now the third set of optimizations is the AI specific optimizations. This is where we give AI the context and the cues and the categorization for what our page is about. And we do that through implementation of code on the back end. And so what we're going to do is add things like schema which gives the categorization and and points to certain things on the page like Q&A and uh the type of page it is. And then once AI has the idea of the categorization of the page, we're going to do things like add in NLP, which stands for natural language processing keywords, and we're going to map that content. What's another fundamental difference is we with with AI based optimizations is that we want to make sure that we're not creating a bunch of content that's similar. So back in the day, you might have had roofing quote, roofing estimate, like if you're a roofing company. But AI doesn't like that. It wants one page about that core topic and then it wants to see us map that to other relevant things through the backend code to give it context that if someone uses this variant, we're going to know that those are the same thing. We're going to have one page. And so it's hyper penalizing things that are not even duplicate content but very similar content that is about the same topic. And so we have to be very careful about that in terms of how we we optimize. And then finally there's the local profile optimizations. Now most e-commerce brands don't think about this. They say well we're not a local business so we don't need to do that. But having those local profiles, even if you don't put your address on them, it just verifies who you are and establishes credibility because you have to go through thirdparty verifications to establish that authority. And AI weights those very heavily because it knows that those businesses that have been verified are who they say they are. And it takes that content and respects it in a way that no other content is respected. And so we want to make sure we're doing that as well. And so what does this mean? This means that when we fix these things, we're able to see results really quickly. And so in this chart, I'm going to show you a couple others. We started optimizations in November. And you can see how quickly the results followed. It was almost overnight. And this business generated tens of thousands of additional dollars a month from just that. But it can get even bigger. This is another company and they did six months of AO and saw 61% increase in search revenue in just the first six months. And you can see when the AEO work began and how impactful it was. They went from a little over $10,000 a month in revenue from organic search in January and they saw that grow to the point where they're doing between 50 and $40,000 every single month from AEO. And really interestingly, they saw 77% increase in search traffic, not impressions, in traffic coming to the site. and they were highly qualified and they bought at a higher rate and they saw almost a 40% a 38% increase in new customer acquired from organic as well because they were able to find the right buyers and get in front of the right audience. And even more interesting and this is why it's important to train a AIS about your business. They saw a 33% increase in their average order value. They went from $322 to $428. And the reason that this was possible is that the AI became a sales agent for the company because we gave the information it needed to provide to educate to make recommendations about what products to buy together and ultimately they ended up buying it from this this client because we gave it the information. We put it on the website. We verified it with thirdparty source of uses press releases and that allowed us to drive revenue in a very impactful and meaningful way. And so, not only is it important for acquisition, it's important for conversion. And so, even if you're not used to getting traffic from organic search, if you're running ads, you'll see a better ad conversion rate. If you're doing affiliate campaigns, you're going to see better affiliate conversions. This impacts your entire business. And here's what's really important and most people don't think about. AI models update way more frequently than Google updates. In the last 3 years alone, AI models have updated 1,391 times compared to 12 core updates in 10 years for Google. That's about 1.27 updates per day compared to 1.2 updates per year. And why does this matter? Because in traditional SEO, what we would do is we would optimize when a new change came out. We'd optimize based on what that change told us, and then we'd wait for the next op uh update to go out and then we do the optimizations again. The problem with AI is by the time you roll out your optimizations, what ends up happening is if you don't have it regularly updating, you are behind. And so you don't ever get ahead most of the time, especially with the people out there doing one-time optimizations. They go in, they do one thing, but the models change so frequently when you do that, you miss out on all the opportunity that comes with the regular updates, and you fall behind very quickly. And so from a practical standpoint, you need a tool that is going to be able to update on a regular basis, or you need to build a tool that's going to do that for you and stay up to date with what's going on in all the models. And so this is this is an actual example. And so this this client came in or like on 62 they turned off the daily optimizations like the regular optimizations that were going on. And what I mean is every single time the site loads, the way that we do this is we run it an optimization based on what the latest models say. And within just four days, they went from, you know, roughly 7,000 sessions a day coming from organic to just over 2,000. So they lost twothirds of their traffic, more than twothirds of their traffic in 4 days because they stopped doing the optimizations. So it's one of those things that you have to stay on top of. And when you stay on top of it, you have a big impact. But what's nice about this is the reverse is true. Once you start the optimizations, you typically see results fast. This isn't like old school SEO. When you address the issues and follow the plan that we're talking about today, you see results quickly. Virtually everyone that does these things sees results within the first 30 days. And that just continues to compound when you follow the plan that we lay out in in the audits. And so what we did is we ran the AO audits on all of your sites. So what we're going to do now is see what we found. And so if you guys want to see what we found, let me know. Let me know you guys are still awake. If you want to see the results. All right. Awesome. So, let's take a look. And if you haven't submitted it, that's okay. I'm going to tell you a little bit more about how to get it and what we're going to do for you. We've got some really, really kickass things that are coming to you if you hang in with me here. So, I'm going to ask you guys a question. How many blockers? So, we have these technical things on the sites. Of the people in this room, of the sites we crawled, how many blockers do you think we had? Put put a number in the chat and we'll see if anyone can get close. How many AO blockers are in the room? >> So, just to clarify, when you when you guys registered, some of you actually gave your URL. Uh, and so that's the data this is based on. About half of you didn't give a URL. So we it's based on the half of you that actually gave a URL. So all this data he's showing is is this audience. >> Yeah. And it's just you guys. And know that whatever I show you is actually double. Whatever I show you is actually double. And so the total number of blockers in this room on this call is 11853,124. And a blocker is a thing that's preventing you from ranking on AI engines. It's what's keeping you from ranking. Now, if you're blown away by that number, put a rocket or a head exploding emoji in the chat because it's insane. Most people don't know this. And what's crazy is a lot of the people that have done SEO have way more issues than you would otherwise have because the things that we did for SEO are sometimes counterproductive to AEO. And I'm going to show you the biggest one. And this is >> Nick just just to put that in perspective, too. That's about 5,000. I just did the math. 5,926 per website. >> Yeah. And some websites have a ton. So, let's take a look in this room. 83% of you are actively blocking LLM crawlers. 83% the vast majority of you are blocking LLM crawlers. An LLM crawler is the tool that chatbt uses to access your site, that Claude uses to access your site, that Gemini uses to access your site. And the crazy part is this is what happens when you've done SEO well in the past because this was a best practice. Now if you're on Shopify, this is being blocked automatically. If you use Cloudflare, this is being blocked automatically. If you're using Yoast plugin on WordPress, it's being blocked automatically. Most businesses are blocking LLM crawlers and you don't even know what's happening. And so we have to go in and make sure that this is resolved because without being without letting those tools access our sites, we are making it so difficult to show up. It'd be like blocking the Google crawler, the Google bot from accessing your site. No one would intentionally do that. But this is a result of a legacy change that used to be good, used to be best practice for security. We only wanted the right crawlers on our site. But because we did this, we prevented all the other good crawlers from accessing our site. We didn't adapt to what's happening. And these businesses that the tools that we use are actively preventing us from ranking. And and it's solvable, but it's something that we have to solve and we want to solve quickly. But if you're on Shopify, this is probably one of the most important things that you can be addressing. 88% of this room has pages that are not indexable by AI agents. They're not accessible to AI agents. So that means that you have a website, you've got all these pages and you've done something wrong where you have pages that cannot be accessed by the AI agent. And you're like, you might say, "Well, Nick, well, the important pages are." But that's not what's going on with AI. AI needs all the pages that you tell it to exist to be accessible. If you don't want AI to access it, then it shouldn't be able to get to it. It shouldn't be in your site map. It shouldn't exist on your website. We need to control that properly because AI uses a vector analysis. And so when you interrupt that vector as it's going down there, the second you do that, it makes it so you're not going to be selected because it's not sure of what's going on. Anytime there's uncertainty, we prevent people from or we prevent the AI agents from being able to select you as the answer. And the same thing's true for the 300 errors and the 400 errors. 67% of the sites we looked at had 300 redirects. Those 300 redirects interrupt the AI crawling. The 71% of you that had 400 errors, that is even worse because we're sending AI to a broken page. These are hard to uncover unless you're actually looking for them. And 79% of the room is telling AI to look at the wrong canonical URL. And why that's important is AI needs to know this is the deacto URL. And the vast majority of you, and this is something that's very common with Shopify and some of these other tools, are have a mismatch between what's in the search bar and what we're telling the agents are the right URLs. And so we need to resolve that and make sure that those always match. Otherwise, we're creating that disconnect. We're creating that uncertainty that causes us to be blocked from ranking. And 89% of the room has issues with their robots file. This is a set of instructions that we give the AI bots, the AI agents in to crawl our site, to access our site. These are the pages you should look at. These are the pages you shouldn't look at. Here's the right way to do it. And 89% of us are using the wrong instructions or bad instructions or they don't exist or they're telling the AI agents the wrong thing. And what you need to know is that these issues are fixable, but only if you know what they are. And so what we also have to remember is that these fixes aren't the same as traditional SEO. And so, like we said, we've run AO audits for everyone. And I know some of you gave us your audits in the past, but I'm going to ask you to scan again because we're going to throw in a couple of additional bonuses. And we're going to make sure the right audit goes to the right person. If you have multiple sites, you can fill it out multiple times. But scan this code here, and I think my team will drop a uh URL in case that's easier for you. But scan this here because what we're going to do is give you these audits. And they're going to tell you exactly what's blocking you from ranking on answer engines. Exactly what's exactly what you need to fix. And it's going to tell you exactly how to fix every single one of those blockers. So, not only are we going to tell you exactly what's stopping you from raking, we're going to give you the guide and the instructions for what you need to do to fix them. And we're going to let you see where you stand today because this is a evolving market. Things change. You need to stay on top of what's going on. And these are normally $500, $4.97. But because you're here, you stayed with me for the hour here to learn about what's going on with AO, we're giving it to you all for $0. $0 to be able to get your audits. And what you'll see is that when you scan this code, you confirm your site. And like I said, you can add additional ones if you want. And you can grab a time with our AO audit team. And they'll be able to walk you through how to read the audit, answer questions about what to fix, how to fix it, and why it matters. And if you need support, we're also able to help you support you with that. But wait, I've got some bonuses for you guys. And so here's a bonus. And it's only for the first 40 people. These audits take a long time to write or to run. These 48 bonuses are things that we have to go out and and manually create and put together for you. And they're highly custom. And so we can only do 40 of them. And what they are is an exclusive AI content plan. And so what's really powerful about this is is we're the first platform to have this and we're going to give you guys access to it. But when you ask AI a question, the way that it determines who's going to show up is it goes out and does what's called a query fan out. So it goes out and asks 40 other questions. And so the way to rank for that one question that the user is asking or the topic that that user is trying to go after is to make sure we're answering the other 40 searches that are being done. And we've built out a tool that observes, infers, and predicts what those queries are. It then creates a content plan for what you need to be producing. So you can start ranking for AI. And this unlocks the mystery. It means that we don't have to guess anymore at what AI is doing or what we need to re be writing about. We get the exact information so that way we can start ranking right away. The other thing that we're going to do is create a competitor gap analysis for you that shows you where you stand in relation to your competitors. Are they showing up over you? Are you even visible? What's going on? And then we're going to give you a detailed displacement report. And that's going to tell you which competitors are displacing you and pushing you out of the rankings. And it's going to help give you the insights you need to be able to beat those competitors and get ahead of them because most people haven't started optimizing. So that means that they're ranking there because they've just done enough to be there. Most aren't actively doing the things that they need to keep that. And so by knowing this information, we can take advantage of that opportunity. And so Kevin, Norm, I'd love to call you guys back up here. What do you think? Is this is this >> No, I've seen we deliver today. >> Yeah, I've seen the report. So you giving this away for free is is crazy because uh I think we paid for the first time we did the report and then uh you sent it to us and we we implemented some stuff and then uh you guys uh explained some of the things that we didn't quite understand and it's made a a huge difference on a on a couple sites. I know someone that's using this, like the woman last night, he said, I think she said someone went from they added like $200 or $300,000 uh after like 90 days or something to and they were tracking it with UTM uh some UTM stuff and some source stuff and uh Heros I think Hy R I think is the tool um that they were tracking and they saw a huge jump. I know if you're having trouble with the QR code, some people said the QR code is just spinning. I tested it before we went on here. So, there is a link in the uh in the webinar chat. Uh Mark Zer posted a link. He he'll probably post it again here in a second. So, if you're having trouble with the QR code, just look into the chat and uh uh it'll it'll work. Carrie says it landed. Um Alex says the QR code's fine now. Great. Maybe just a lot of people were hitting hitting it. Okay, great. Thanks. Uh thanks Matt and Jan for confirming that. Um, Mac asked, "Is this only for B TOC or or is it also for B TOC?" >> This is B2B and B TOC. We support both here. And so we we recommend doing all of them. Uh, and so we we currently support about 150 different industries across the board. So there's no no limit to to what's going on. And then I know there are a couple of questions here. or if you need to book a call, I highly recommend booking the call because we'll be able to walk you through exactly what goes on and what you need to do. It's it's one of those things where it can be overwhelming if we if we don't do that. So, make sure you're you're going through and filling that out. We ask a couple of questions so we can tailor the audits to you. Um, so just let me let me know if when you're in, put a we're in message so we can welcome you to the group. And then just so everyone has it. This is the audit requests link right there. And so >> I just saw someone say uh who was this? I just saw just pass up. Brian says he submitted his URL during the webinar signup. Um, does he need to submit it again? Yes, you need you need to submit it again. We use those that you submitted to actually create this data cuz we wanted to see what kind of problems there were with this audience. Uh and when we realized, holy cow, it's like what 89% or some of those numbers. We're like, all right. Uh so you're going to get this audit for free. So you you're not paying anything. So they will give it to you and they'll go over with you and explain some stuff. It has it correct me if I'm wrong, Nick, but it it has like I if I recall, it's been a couple weeks since I actually like looked at the one we did. It was like three tabs and each tab uh was a different thing. And uh I know you're giving some bonuses there, but you would log in and say, "Hey, this this is an error. You need to fix this page, this URL. You need to change this." It's like pretty specific, right? >> Yeah. It'll tell you it'll tell you exactly what you need to do, how to fix it. And so, obviously, it's something that we can help support you with, but our goal is to help as many brands as possible take advantage of what's going on in the market and the current opportunity. And so whether you work with us or you do it yourself, um you know, this is a great tool to to take advantage of of >> anybody that has a anybody of you guys on here that have a Shopify site, a Woo Commerce, uh a blog site, a web press, this you should do this. If you don't have that, you know, this doesn't work on Amazon or Walmart because they control all the access. But if you have your own personal website, you should do this and let run the report and it'll show you tell you what to do. And some of it you guys may be like, "No, that's too technical." Uh, or too much. Or maybe you got a good guy or you're pretty good at this stuff. Uh, and you can and it'll tell you what to go fix. Or if you're like, >> it's exact. It tells you exactly to fix >> exactly what to fix. It's not like, oh, this is broken. Uh, you know, pay us some money and we'll we'll give you the secret. No, it's not like that. It's like, this is broken. Do this, this, and this. And then if you want help with it, you know, they have they can they can help you out and they'll they'll guide you. And on the call, they will explain it to you. So when you I'm not sure do they get the report Nick before they do the call or they get the report automatically? >> So we we explain we go through the report on the call first and then we send it to you after just because we know that that's the best way to make sure you're getting the information you need and so definitely book the call. It's very valuable. We're going to go through every question that that you guys have. I >> I think this is an important question to address too. So this is this just came in. It's where is it going? It's going into chat. So, uh, this is, uh, Kobe said, "I thought that Shopify has just started showing up in AEO about a month ago." Yes, but you want to go and explain the details about that. Yeah. So, there's a distinction here. Shopify has a system to get products into certain AEO searches, but that's not necessarily getting your site specifically to rank. And so, what most Shopify sites are doing is blocking LLM crawlers. what makes it even more difficult to rank. Um, and so it's a distinction. They've rolled out their AI product feed and so that's a little different than than what we're talking about here. And so we want to make sure we're capturing the people that are going and pushing them directly to your site because making sure that we optimize that a lot gives us a better chance of our brand showing up because right now it could be any anything that shows up without these these tools and the third party support and the the uh technical fixes and and there's a lot of technical optimizations that need to be addressed. >> We got another Shopify question. And uh can LLM crawlers be unblocked on Shopify? >> Yes, and that's something that that we'll go over with you. So the reason that Shopify is blocking them has to do with their Cloudflare setup. Um and so Cloudflare's Shopify uses Cloud Flare to deliver sites. And so Cloudflare automatically blocks it as part of, you know, their standard setup. So you have to go in and update that that configuration. And we'll we'll talk you through kind of what needs to be done there. All right. Anybody having any questions, please put them in the Q&A. We will not be answering questions that come through chat. >> Yeah. I see Deanna asked something about uh she couldn't book the meeting. No available spots found. >> There's about three people that have said that now. >> Uh what can they do about how are we going to handle that? that. Um, >> Mark, can you uh can we put your email in? And so if you guys want to get an earlier time, uh, we'll grab we'll grab your contact um, and we'll reach out to to get something there. So, email Mark here. It's Markperfectuslabs.com and we'll get if you're ready to to get your audit right away, shoot Mark a message here and we'll get you booked as soon as we possibly can. >> Yeah. Uh Michelle >> says there spots in August >> is in August >> or and then in the chat if you look in the uh the webinar chat Mark Zaneer Zer added his uh email. So you can email him directly if you can't find something or you're like you know what I'm ready to get this going quicker just email him. Um yeah Deanna Dina if you can just email Mark I saw you posted that your email in here. it might get lost in the in if you can just email him that way he has it front and center. Uh the same Michelle if you're able to do that um if you look up in the the chat you'll see it mark even if you if you booked late like August 20th has been the latest uh but if you don't want to wait three or four you know weeks to get this thing going uh email Mark. So, we'll put we'll continue to put his uh email uh address into the chat. >> Yes. And so, do that. We'll keep posting it. And again, grab a slot no matter what. And we can always we'll reschedule it to to get you in sooner. But just make sure you're grabbing your time um so we're not missing out on on the opportunity and making sure that you're one of the first 40. I think we're we're running low on I think we've only got a few more of those left. So, make sure you're you're grabbing your your slots so that way we can get you those those bonuses. >> James says, "Poor Mark." Yeah, Mark does talk to a lot of people. That's for sure. Uh and he's in Austin, uh where I'm at, so uh that means he's one of the one of the cool people. >> Any other questions, Norm, that you see coming? >> There there's tons of questions. So, by question, this is from Jan. I have a Shopify site. How do we solve this? Well, I think the question uh the answer is pretty obvious. Sign up for that audit. It'll should take care of that, wouldn't you say, Nick? >> Yes. Yeah, signing up for the audit is going to give you the best insights for how to solve this. >> Okay. Um Nadia says, um a lot of Shopify questions. Uh will the PDF include best practices to unblock LLMs on Shopify? Yeah. So, we'll we'll have all that that that information going in there. Um, and so any questions you have, we're going to be able to address on on those audit calls. >> Okay, this one um from Aaron uh regarding indexibility of pages. What about legal pages that we do not want indexed or accessed? There are disclaimer pages that have nothing to do with our product. Should should we allow AI to access them anyway? I think I know the answer. >> Yes. Yeah. So AI needs those pages to know that you're trustworthy. So you want them to be accessible. Um and anytime we send like the wrong signals to AI and they don't they can't access pages that they expect to see like privacy policies um that that sends the wrong signal and makes it less likely for you to to rank. >> Okay. There is a bunch of people that we got this solved now couldn't get on QR code. >> Yeah. And I'm going to post the the link again. If you haven't filled it out or you didn't get a chance to book, feel free to fill it out again and get to the calendar so that way you can get your your uh call booked so we can make sure we're answering all all your questions. >> Okay. Uh Nina said, "Was I supposed to get a confirmation or something?" uh you'll you should get a meeting invite if you booked that. Otherwise, we we will be reaching out. So, anyone that that hasn't booked their meeting, we'll be sure to reach out to you and and follow up to make sure you're getting your audits. But, make sure you're booking them now just so you're getting that spot as early as possible. >> Okay. Um Allan says the booking is not working. He tried many dates, keeps getting a error code 409. I don't know, Mark, if you can look into that. Okay, Michelle's got something here. I was recently recently told to be concerned about SEO budget and to not let the engines crawl to too many pages. Is that right? Uh, no. You you So, what's important is that we have content that's relevant. One of the reasons that biggest the biggest sites out there are getting hammered so hard right now is that they went really broad in the topics that they've created content about. What AI wants is not breath but depth of content. They want to know that you're an expert in the areas that you you are and not in everything. And so like a lot of these big publishing companies that use that to kind of drive their business got hammered because they're not seen as an expert in anything because they write about everything. So, as long as your content is focused and tailored and and localized to the audience you want to reach, you're going to um be able to to take advantage of of those opportunities. >> All right. Does Perfect Labs have a new uh the ability to create a new website? >> Uh yeah, that's something that we we can support. >> It looks like on the error codes, Carrie says that the reason that was happening is because someone took that spot from underneath you. So, if you if you were trying to book and you you didn't hit it quick enough, someone else grabbed that spot. So, that might be why you got the error code. So, try a different date or if it doesn't work or if you're just frustrated with it, just email Mark. The link uh is in the uh the webinar chat. Just email Mark at perfectislabs.com and he'll get you taken care of. Okay, this is from Jeff. Um, we have anformational website. Our partners' websites sell our product. How do we optimize our partners' websites? >> So, the same types of logic applies. You'd want to audit them and then work with them to do kind of the recommendations that we we put together in the the audit. >> Okay. Um, Jen, I think I know the answer. Uh, I'm an artist with three distinct brand brands. spinning plates and not doing well. Book that call. >> And you can submit multiple sites too, like in that last example too, like Nick. So they could with, you know, if it's okay with whoever they work with, you could submit those sites. Yeah. Reports on those and then you could work with them that whoever your partner is, you know, if they want to make those changes or like allow you to or however that works, whatever your relationship is. >> Yeah. Yeah. No, definitely definitely do that and make sure that you're you're getting those those times booked. And again, if you if you've emailed Mark, great. Um we'll get you booked or if you're frustrated or or struggling, we'll we'll do that. And um you know, welcome in for the people that that have, you know, submitted their information. And uh we're looking forward to to getting those those answered or those questions answered for you. Yeah, it looks like several people here are saying the calendar is filled up. Some people are putting if you're putting your email address in the Q&A or into the chat. Uh please, we won't necessarily see that. We we'll try to follow up with you, but the best thing is to actually either book it on the the the QR code or the link or if you can't do that, email Mark. If you can put your email address one more time into the webinar chat so it's because it's it it goes up and people can't find it. Uh email Mark and say, "Hey, I was on the webinar today." Uh um I want something on my site and get get a book get a booking and that way uh he can get you taken care of. Um >> yeah, there's a Carrie just put something in here. I want to see my report now because my call isn't until August 13th. >> Just shoot uh shoot Mark an email and we'll either get you booked sooner or we'll we'll get you the audit sooner. >> Okay. Will we uh will we receive any report before the call? >> We we'll go over the report on the call just so you have so we can explain exactly how to interpret it and and understand it. Um there it's uh we we do these all the time and it's what we see as the most most valuable >> and that's something that Kevin and I can talk about because we received your reports and you've you've given us a bunch of reports and when we first took a glance at it, we thought, "Oh, you know, this is interesting." But then when we got on the call with you and you went through and you opened up all these different areas and modules that we had no clue until we got on the call with you where to look. So that's why we're not holding back a report, but the call really does um make the uh report uh for your team more effective. >> Yeah, absolutely. Okay. So, Gary, yep. You This is >> What's the difference here between what you guys do? >> Email Mark. >> What's the difference between what you guys do and what someone said? I could just go do this in Claude. I >> I'll have Claude do an audit on my site and tell me everything. What's >> Yeah, you have to be really careful with using AI to identify issues. Um because AI what AI does is it goes in and uh looks up information based on what other people have said. And so a lot of those those recommendations that it's making are SEO best practices, not actually AEO best practices. And so it's working on where the most data is. And because there's so much SEO data out there, it defaults to that. So it it's not necessarily making the right optimizations or recommendations there. The other thing that's really important is that if you're going to use cloud to implement these changes, you have to make sure you're staying on top of the changing environment within what's going on with AEO because those models change more than once a day. And so if you're not constantly updating the site, what ends up happening is you fall behind and that those gains that you got start to erode. And so you've got to either use a tool to keep up with that or you got to build a tool to keep up with that. Otherwise, it's it's very difficult to to maintain those rankings um with with what we do. >> Does this work on big commerce? >> Yeah, it works big commerce. It works like all these strategies work across the board. Our solution like if you decide to work with us, we support all the different platforms out there. Does it conflict with like any SEO tools like someone saying they use Topita on Shopify? Does it any does it does it compete or what we will what we do when we work with people is we will overwrite any incorrect optimizations that are done. So even if you're using a tool um that's out there it it gets resolved. And so we and we do it on the server side. So you don't have to worry about JavaScript or the site being slow or anything like that. is directly within the server. >> Okay. >> Several people Yeah, several people are still saying they're having trouble getting the booking link or getting in. We'll we'll get you um we'll go through this transcript. I'm telling you, uh we normally don't because this gets buried, but uh Zoom will give me this webinar chat in the Q&A as a text file and I'll pass that over to uh Nick and Mark and let them uh uh pull out uh some of you that are having trouble and try to help you out. We want to make sure everybody's helped out. >> All right. So, this is a question from Alex. Uh, besides the robots.txt file, what else is normally hurting AEO and what are the best practices in SEO? >> Yeah. So uh the so there's in terms of like the specifics in terms of like what's like the difference the the things that AI cares about more like for example like right now are are things like the length requirements of certain things on the back end like your metatitles metad descriptions and so that constantly changes and what a lot of people would do for AEO it or like for SEO would be to write things that drive higher clickthrough rate, but for AI, we want to be writing things that give the eye enough context to select us because they're not like they're not responsive to like uh traditional like CTA type of strategies. Uh and so like the the fundamentals of how we we optimize there are different things like how we write the robots file is different for AEO than it is for for um for SEO. And so it really it goes down the list in terms of like what changes like on a regular basis when the models change. It's it's how much information they're willing to look at or not look at based on what the latest model is um and like how it's waiting things. So like right now AI weights the um the recency schema a lot more heavily than other schema. So how you position that that matters. And so there's a lot of like nuance things like that that you want to stay on top of. uh and that that change on a a fairly regular basis. >> So, uh we answered this earlier on, but uh Abigail's asking if what happens if we don't have a site and we're just strictly on Amazon. Not a good fit. >> Not a good fit. I I would recommend building a website um and and then using that to amplify what you're doing because you're not going to be able to take advantage of what's going on with AEO right now if you're um if you're only doing Amazon. Uh you can do a lot with just Amazon, but if you want to take advantage of the AO opportunities, you definitely need need a website. Um, let's see. What are some actionable steps and how we can improve our AEO today? >> Yeah, so every website's going to be a little unique based on where you're at and what's going on. And those specific steps will be in the audit. If you were to do just one thing today, it would be to go into your tools and make sure that you're no longer blocking um your your LLM crawler or LLM crawlers from accessing your site. Um and so that would be like the number one thing that anyone here should be doing. Um, and again, how you do that differs a little bit based on your unique situation, but if if you did nothing else, that would be the most important thing to to take care of. >> Okay. >> What if a brand doesn't sell on Amazon, but they use landing pages to redirect to Amazon? >> So, you can you can use take advantage of that. we would want to build out that content a little bit because we want articles and blogs and like supporting pages, but you can definitely take advantage of of what's going on there um through through uh through just kind of an expansion of that. We have a few people that that that sell books that do that exact thing um right now where they sell primarily on Amazon, but they use uh landing pages and website infrastructure that they've created to send that traffic to Amazon um to to really help ramp things up there and take advantage of of the market. >> We have like two or three more questions, Norm, that are good ones and then >> I'm just looking through it right now. Uh, and so what what I'm going to put out there is we we've now gotten to the the 40 40 cap. Um, would we'll go ahead and we're add another 10 to that. So, we've got I think we've got another few slots. So, anyone that that comes in in the next few minutes um we'll be able to we'll bump that up to 50. Um and and we've just like I said, we've got a handful more available. So again, if you if you want to take advantage of that, uh make sure to do that. And if you haven't booked because there you weren't able to get the link going, put a note in the chat so that way we can mark your name down. Um so that way we're we're assigning that that value to you. So just uh make sure to let us know if you need help there. Is there a deadline to request this? Uh, no. There's no deadline. It's just to get the bonuses. If you want one of those, he just raised it from 40 to 50. >> That would be the deadline. Um, otherwise, you just you get the standard report without the bonuses if you, you know, wait a few weeks or something. >> Yeah. If if you don't have a website yet, um, you you can put a note in the the chat and that's something we can talk to you about if you need help building that. Um because what if you are going to build a website, one of the things you just want to be aware of is like it's so much better to build a website from like the ground up the right way versus having to go back in and fix it, especially if you're using AI. So a little tip, uh a lot of AI tools that build websites do something called SBA sites. So what that means is they're building single application sites which is all rendered by JavaScript and AI agents don't render JavaScript. And so what ends up happening is you have all this information that you spend all this money on and AI can't see any of it. >> That's a lot of the live coded stuff. Vodcoded websites actually block uh just because of that exact reason block AI. >> People don't realize that. >> Okay. Uh, is this only for B to C or what does that >> include? D to C. >> We already answered that one. >> All of them. Yep. >> Okay. Uh, let me see. Oh, u I know that you we talked about this a little bit earlier, but we might want to just circle back to this. Um, I made most of these tests through cloud code and it checked and it checked my site and approved all the everything was okay. Can I trust the claude check? No. It doesn't cost anything to see our audit. Do the audit. You'll have like we we've spent millions of dollars developing these these solutions and they're very well tested. They're based on the the billions of dollars of marketing investment that we've we've managed over time. And so keep in mind like we've been doing AI optimization for enterprise brands since 2015. And so we're bringing a lot of knowledge about how these things actually work. Um and so there's a lot more detail that you need to go into. I've seen so many people that went to chat or claude or Perplexity and said, "Hey, is my website great?" And it comes back and says yes. but they don't rank for anything because they don't they haven't actually resolved the problems. And so look at the audits, make sure you understand them, and we take advantage of of of kind of those opportunities because that like trusting AI blindly without verification is is a major major issue that that we'll we'll want to make sure we're we're addressing. James says he he did he did that on Claude for a site that was not built yet, not finished yet, not built, and it told him everything passed. >> So, he's like, "Do not trust it. Do not trust Claw telling you that you're optimized." >> All right. So, uh this is Alex. What kind of third party validation is most valuable for AEO? You mentioned press releases in Google My Business. >> Yeah. So, Google My Business uh or Google business profile. There's also Google brand profiles. Uh we also recommend some directory sites, but the kind of the biggest needle mover that we've seen are press releases. Press releases create instant credibility. They rank almost right away and they move the needle in a in a huge way. And so, that's one of the tools that that we leverage. Um, and part of our program if you do end up working with us, uh, is is that as we we put out the press releases for you, we put out the content for you in addition to fixing the technical issues. And so, it's one of those those things that that moves the needle the most. Now any other content like your LinkedIn profile uh or brand profiles on on certain you know networks can can be impactful but keep in mind that things like Instagram and Facebook block LLM crawlers so they can't really see that that information. Um but it does see LinkedIn uh crawls LinkedIn regularly. So, that's not a tool that most e-commerce brands use, but there's actually some benefit of of putting out regular content there as well. Um, but the the the one that I get asked about the most, um, and I tell you to I'll tell you to try to avoid it as much as possible, unless you have to do it, is going to be Reddit. Um, if you can avoid getting onto Reddit because your audience isn't there and nothing's been started, it's a lot easier to maintain a good Reddit reputation um, by not getting there in the first place. >> Um, versus once that beast has been open, then you actually have to manage it and take advantage of it and address those things. And so, you know, if you've already got a presence there, it's going to change what we'd recommend. But Reddit, try to stay away from because it opens the doors to a lot of trolls. Um, and if you want to avoid doing that, don't don't start that fire. Um, but if you're there, then you do need to address it and you need to make sure you have a strategy for for commenting and, you know, putting out good good content. Um and then thirdparty review sites like Trustpilot um are are really important as well. Okay. Uh most of the questions that are left is all about pricing. So I think there's six or seven people that asked about oh you know do can we work with you directly? What about pricing? It's going to be discussed on the call if you know when you go over the report but what do you have to say about that? Uh, so we have different packages for for all different types of businesses based on where you're at. And so, you know, our my main goal is to get you the right information. Um, and because of how we approach these things, you know, we we try and make everything a no-brainer price point if we do work with you because, you know, we want ROI to be high and when we bring clients in, we we really don't want them to ever leave. And so the best way to do that is to create a lot of value and charge something that that isn't going to break the bank. >> Awesome. Well, Nick, I appreciate you coming on and sharing today. And like I said, everybody, you can try the marketpuslabs.com that's in the uh that you posted the chat if you had trouble. Uh if you didn't, we'll go through the uh or if you did have trouble and you posted something here in the chat or in the Q&A, we'll go through those and pull out your names and try to match them up to your registration. Uh, but go and get that report. Uh, it's free. There's no obligation for anything. You don't have to spend anything. It'll tell you, like we said, exactly what to do. There will be a replay going out on this. If you came in late, we'll have a replay that will be posted to the the YouTube channel for Marketing Misfits. So, uh, we'll probably email you all that registered and say, "Here's here's the link in case you want to check that or if you don't get that link, be sure to check out uh the Marketing Misfits YouTube channel and you can uh you can have you can get that. Um cool. Um all right. Um we will see you all again soon. Uh make sure you subscribe to the Misfits.news uh newsletter. Appreciate it, man. Thanks for coming on. Uh, and, uh, good luck everybody. And, uh, looking forward to seeing some, uh, some results, uh, in a few months when someone said, I was on that call in July. Glad I was on that call because this quarter 4, I'm crushing it with AI. Uh, so, uh, now this is a great, >> great time to get started. >> Great time to do it that you have that recency. you know that the quarter 4 coming up. I can't wait to hear someone say that. And don't forget also Market Masters 4 is happening in August and there just might be someone from Nick's team out there. We're we're talking to them about that. So you might be able to pick their brain a little bit more if you're at Market Masters 4 in Austin in August. Anything else, Norm? >> No, the only thing is uh we're still getting people saying that they they couldn't book a time. So I'm just letting them know book with Mark. I left his email in there. So, uh, just markperfect perfectlabs.com. I'm not going to spell it out. Just look in the chat. >> Awesome. If you're watching this on the replay and that QR code should be working. If not, look down in the description on the replay on YouTube and we'll have uh the direct link as well. And uh hopefully they'll be able to Mark's going to be a busy man. Uh, but I know he's got a couple other team members that can help uh explain some stuff as well. So, we'll we'll put that down there. So, if you're watching this on the replay and you can't there is no chat, I can't get the link.
